Vendor Relations Specialist Needed in Oxnard
Industry: Food and Beverage Manufacturing
Pay Range: $23 - $25/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30pm
Summary: The Vendor Relations Associate is a member of the company's procurement team, which includes the Senior Product Development Manager, Purchasing and Quality Assurance team. The team is responsible for the company's Vendor Monitoring & Approval Program, which is in place to ensure received raw materials, packaging, finished goods and equipment meets specifications and are safe and of good quality. The Vendor Relations Associate acts as a point of contact between the team and suppliers, providing information to support the program and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
· Managing and maintaining company's internal supplier management document platform.
· Requesting new raw material and/or food contact packaging samples, pricing, packaging, product availability etc. from any new or existing suppliers.
· Communicating raw material and/or food contact specifications set by Senior Product Development Manager or QA team to suppliers.
· Placing purchase orders for raw materials and food contact packaging.
· Conducting daily supplier outreach, which includes collecting any and all required and requested documentation.
· Maintaining company's approved supplier list for both domestic and international suppliers.
· Proper filing of all required and requested documentation from suppliers in shared location accessible by company staff.
· Notifying staff of receipt of such documents in a timely and consistent manner.
· Assisting with supplier outreach when any food safety or quality non-conformances occur. Additionally assists with obtaining satisfactory corrective actions as necessary.
· Completing vendor packets as needed.

· Must be able to accurately read and interpret details. An eye for exactness, including spelling, punctuation, formatting a key skill.
· Must have a very high level of attention to detail.
· Well organized and ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments.
· Good oral and written communication skills
Education/Experience:
1-2 years of experience in regulatory affairs in a food production facility that has HACCP and/or GFSI certification preferred. Working knowledge of quality auditing, food safety and food quality standards preferred.
High School Diploma or Equivalent with previous related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
